TrueCatch AI Privacy Policy

1. Overview

TrueCatch AI is a personal fishing companion. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, the permissions we request, and how you can access, export, or delete your data. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

Account data: Email address and (optionally) a display name you set for your greeting.

Fishing data you create: Catch logs (species, size, photo, date), fishing trips, saved fishing spots, and catch map data.

Fishing Wallet: Licenses and permits you choose to store, including expiration reminders. License document images are stored securely and are never shared.

Usage & diagnostics: Aggregate, anonymized analytics and (unless you opt out) crash reports to improve the app.

3. Permissions & Purpose

TrueCatch AI requests the following device permissions. Each has a specific purpose, and you can manage them in your device settings at any time.

Camera: Used to photograph fish for AI species identification, live-camera scanning, and catch logging. TrueCatch AI only accesses your camera when you take a photo or start a scan — never in the background.

Location (GPS): Used to record catch coordinates, save fishing spots, and show nearby marine conditions. Location is optional — you can hide GPS or delete location history anytime in the Privacy Center.

Photo Library: Used to upload existing fish photos for identification and catch logging. TrueCatch AI only reads photos you explicitly select — it never scans your library.

Notifications: Used to send regulation updates, fishing season reminders, and weather/marine alerts. You choose which notifications you receive in Settings and can disable them anytime.

4. How We Use Your Data

To provide species identification, catch logging, regulation guidance, marine conditions, trip planning, license reminders, and personalized greetings. We do not use your personal fishing data to build advertising profiles.

5. Data Sharing

Your catch, trip, spot, and license data is private to you and is not shared with other users. We may share limited data with service providers that power app features (e.g., AI identification, map data, weather data) under appropriate data-protection terms, or when required by law.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can export your data at any time from the Privacy Center, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Privacy Center → Delete Account. Deletion cannot be undone.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards. Account access is authenticated, data is stored on secured infrastructure, and GPS coordinates can be hidden or deleted by you at any time.

8. Children’s Privacy

TrueCatch AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact support so we can delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to access, export, and delete your personal data. Use the Privacy Center to manage location privacy, disable analytics/crash reporting, export your data, or delete your account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
